Ecto-Goggles

• Ecto-Goggles are like Pokemon Go’s incense.
• They help you find two types of ghosts more easily:
  • Dark
  • Light
• Up to 16 ghosts will appear, if you keep clearing them. (8 every fifteen minutes.)
• They last a half-hour with each use.
• They can be purchased in a variety of ways.

This item in Ghostbusters World works kind of like incense does in Pokemon Go. You can use Ecto-Goggles to more easily find rare and powerful Light and Dark-type ghosts. In my experience, there is a huge number of ghosts that you can capture while using the Ecto-Goggles.

How long do Ecto-Goggles Last?

Ecto-Goggles last 30 minutes when they are activated. You’ll see the timer counting down thirty minutes. Plan on using a bunch of traps and/or ammunition during this time.

How many ghosts will spawn with Ecto-Goggles?

Eight (8) ghosts spawn per 15 minutes. There will be 16 total. They auto-spawn and follow you. To get all of the spawns, you need to clear the first ones. Ecto-Goggle spawns have dark rings. If they don’t spawn, tap on the story menu, then exit, to force spawns. In rare occasions, you may need to restart the game.

Does it matter where you use your Ecto-Goggles?

It doesn’t seem to matter where you use them. I’ve managed to find great ghosts at home and out and about. And they were the same ghosts either way. That said, there are times when I, and others, have found ghosts we don’t normally see while in new locations. But there’s no telling if those same ghosts would have appeared in usual spots.

How do I get more Ecto-Goggles Batteries?

You can find them in Ray’s Store for 200 Gems each, or 10 for 1800 Gems. You can also get them as part of Stanz’s Busting Bundle (one each day for 30 days for $9.99). They appear in multiple other bundles as well.

Bonus Tip: Use Double EXP

If you have any Double EXP devices in your inventory, try one at the same time as you use the Ecto-Goggles. They also run for 30 minutes, and you’ll be focused on catching and/or destabilizing as many ghosts as possible during this time, so you can double the impact you make on your EXP during this time.

Look out for false positives

The first time that I used the Ecto-Goggles was also the only time that I found a Spider Witch ghost. I found out later that she’s an Earth type, and not Dark or Light, but I had thought she might be a Dark type because I happened to find her while I was using the goggles and haven’t unlocked her yet. I believe she just happened to be by the nearby gate. (She was the first mini-boss that I found in the game, so I didn’t know how it all worked at the time, either.)
