The latest update for Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord is packed with exciting new features that are sure to take your ghostbusting experience to the next level. This time around, the iconic 1984 proton pack from the original movie is available for all missions (except the Intro mission), giving you the chance to relive the glory days of the Ghostbusters with the equipment that started it all. Head over to the Upgrade Station, grab the 1984 particle thrower, and take this classic gear into any mission. And don’t worry—if you’re craving that Rise of the Ghost Lord feel, you can easily switch back at any time.
But that’s just the start! You can now replay narrative videos right from the HQ, allowing you to revisit the story of Gustav Hookfaber and the Ghost Lord as often as you like. Plus, 100% completion now comes with a special reward—a slick red flight suit to show off your dedication. And if that’s not enough, a brand-new DLC avatar of Dr. Ray Stantz is now available, along with a Mini Puft-themed proton wand skin for Rise of the Ghost Lord players.
With a variety of quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and new collectibles, this update delivers something for every ghostbuster. Get in there and make sure you’re fully equipped to face whatever the Ghost Lord throws your way!
New ‘Original 1984 Proton Pack’ Available for All Missions
- The original iconic proton pack is now available for all players for all missions (excludes Intro mission)
- Go to Upgrade Station and find the particle thrower behind the monitors
- Grab the 1984 particle thrower to swap your proton pack to the 1984 original
- Note that when you grab the 1984 particle thrower, the ‘Rise of the Ghost Lord’ proton wand appears – grab it to swap back
- Note that the 1984 proton pack is authentic to the original movie and does not support secondary equipment or customization skins
- The 1984 proton pack can be upgraded on the equipment bench by placing it on the magnetic arms like normal
- If you play the Frozen Empire missions these will continue to include the modified version of the 1984 pack with the heat beam nozzle
New Replay Narrative Videos
- As you play non-Frozen Empire missions, the story of Gustav Hookfaber and Ghost Lord plays out in a series of narrative videos that display on the TV monitors between missions
- Any video that you’ve unlocked through play can now be replayed in the HQ
- To replay unlocked narrative videos go to the Progress Terminal opposite the lockers and note the new button on the bottom right
- Now you can replay these at your leisure if you missed any information first time or wish to see the story in order
New 100% Completion Reward
- Progress in the game is measured on the Progress Terminal and includes the number of missions completed and ghost types caught
- Now when the total completion is 100% a new red flight suit will be available
- Go to the locker and select any of the original ‘Rise of the Ghost Lord’ avatars, pick their flight suit costume and select the red colour swatch
- Note: 100% completion now unlocking correctly in all circumstances
New DLC Avatar – Ray Stantz (purchase separately or included in Full Containment Edition)
- Dr Ray Stantz is now available as a player avatar
- Go to the locker and select the photo group shot of the movie characters
- Select Ray from the photos that appear
- If you do not have the Full Containment Edition you’ll need to purchase him separately
New DLC Proton Wand Skin (purchase separately or included in Full Containment Edition)
- A new mini puft skin is available for the ‘Rise of the Ghost Lord’ proton packs
- Place the ‘Rise of the Ghost Lord’ proton wand on the upgrade station, select Customization and choose from the available skins
- Note that customization skins are not available for the 1984 proton pack
- If you do not have the Full Containment Edition you’ll need to purchase this separately
Quality of Life Improvements
- Numerous bug fixes and stability improvements
- 100% completion now unlocking correctly in all circumstances
- Improved Mini Puft Mayhem to avoid situations where Mini-Puft bag would spawn out of bounds causing a blocker in starting the mode.
- Fixed bug in Harvester missions where Harvester would not accept the heat sink in some conditions
