Back when Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered was announced for consoles, and as an Epic exclusive, there was one comment that I kept seeing over and over: “No Steam?”
Ghostbusters: the Video Game Remastered‘s Steam release date is November 17, 2020.
Add it to your wishlist, or buy it if it is live, over here on Steam.
A few weeks ago, you could get the game for free on Epic, but based on what I had seen, a lot of you would be more willing to pay for it on Steam than get the game for free on Epic. (I don’t blame you… having a single platform of choice for gaming is preferable to having multiple platforms. That’s what I like about Movies Anywhere for my digital films, minus Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM right now.)
I recently counted and I have no fewer than 10 copies of this game (including the DS and multiple copies of the original version). It’s ridiculous.
That said… it’s been about 11 years…
The original was released on June 16, 2009… how about an open world… ongoing busts of ghosts from all Ghostbusters eras (IDW comics, The Real Ghostbusters, Extreme Ghostbusters, etc.)… multiplayer co-op… sidequests… ghost collecting like Ghostbusters World… all wrapped up in what could be the greatest sequels to one of my favorite games of all time?
Ghostbusters: The Video Game 2 anyone?
Where’s Multiplayer?
We’re still waiting.. and likely will be waiting forever. Last I checked, it still works for the Xbox 360 version. But part of the problem was that the multiplayer feature was developed by a different studio outside of the main story mode of the game. I really wish they would go ahead and re-create that mode, but I’m not holding my breath at this point.
