Research Contracts

These are currently all of the contracts you can select in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. All of these contracts require you to play as a Ghostbuster to complete. Each task completion grants you an additional 5,000 XP, and each contract completion will grant you the gear or gear upgrade, plus an additional 25,000 XP, with the exception of the Shell contracts, which only give 20,000 XP on completion. You can find these contracts on a computer in Eddy’s research lab. And you can do one each of Research Contracts and Side Hustles at the same time. Updated with the release of DLC3.

P.K.E. Meter

RGB P.K.E. Shell Research Contract – (DLC1)

Unlocks at P.K.E. Meter LvL 5

• Flush 10 Ghosts out of objects with your P.K.E. Meter Blast
• Uncover 10 Ghost Rifts hidden inside of objects

EGB P.K.E. Shell Research Contract – (DLC2)

Unlocks at P.K.E. Meter LvL 5

• Destroy 50 Minions with P.K.E. Blast
• Flush out 10 Ghosts from hiding with the P.K.E. Blast

2016 P.K.E. Shell Research Contract – (DLC3)

Unlocks at P.K.E. Meter LvL 5

• Do 2000 damage to rifts using your P.K.E. pulses
• Stun the Ghost with your P.K.E. Meter Blast 16 times

“Fanatic” P.K.E. Shell Research Contract – (DLC4)

Unlocks at P.K.E. Meter LvL 5

• Destroy 15 Haunted Objects, preferably made out of cardboard
• Get 5 Civilians to support you after calming them

Wielder Grip Research Contract

Unlocks at P.K.E. Meter LvL 21

• Pulse stun a Ghost in mid air 10 times
  • The easiest way to do this is to prepare to stun the ghost with your P.K.E. Meter and then jump right as your stun is about to fire.
• Track a ghost signal for 5 minutes total

Outboard Chipset Research Contract

Unlocks at P.K.E. Meter LvL 23

• Pulse flush a Ghost out of a possessable 25 times
• Pulse kill 50 minions

Ecto Zapper Research Contract – (DLC2)

Unlocks at P.K.E. Meter LvL 25

• Pulse kill 25 minions
• Do 1000 Rift Damage with P.K.E. pulses

Particle Thrower

RGB Particle Thrower Shell Research Contract – (DLC1)

Unlocks at Thrower LvL 5

• Help destroy 15 Ghost Rifts with other busters
• Hold onto a primary tether for 120 seconds total

EGB Particle Thrower Shell Research Contract – (DLC2)

Unlocks at Thrower LvL 5

• Deal 1000 Rift Fracture Damage
• Flush out 10 Ghosts with your Particle Thrower

2016 Thrower Shell Research Contract – (DLC3)

Unlocks at Thrower LvL 5

• Destroy 30 Drudges while tethering them with your Particle Thrower
• Deal 1000 fracture damage to rifts

“Fanatic” Particle Thrower Shell Research Contract – (DLC4)

Unlocks at Thrower LvL 5

• Destroy 50 Trashcans that probably have unrecycled cardboard in them (Note: can be completed as a Ghost or a Buster)
• Destroy 20 Panes of Glass

Whip Pulsar Research Contract

Unlocks at Thrower LvL 42

• Hold primary tether for 5 minutes
• Form 10 primary tethers in one job

Snub Nose Research Contract

Unlocks at Thrower LvL 44

• Form a tether after finishing a mantle 10 times (deprecated with DLC3)
• Help Reinforce tethers for 150 Seconds total
• Complete 3 Primary tethers while falling

Dual Vertical Grip Research Contract

Unlocks at Thrower LvL 46

• Pull a Ghost into a trap pull field as Primary tether 25 times
• Reinforce 15 existing tethers

Particle Thruster Research Contract

Unlocks at Thrower LvL 48

• Destroy 50 Minions with your particle thrower
• Deal 1000 fracture damage to rifts

Neural Frequency Emitter Research Contract

Unlocks at Thrower LvL 50

• Calm 25 Scared Civilians you disturbed with your thrower (changed with DLC3 to the below)
• Calm 25 Civilians recently scared by you or your buster equipment
• Kill 25 minions who have recently attacked a civilian (changed with DLC3 to the below)
• Kill 10 minions who have recently attacked a civilian

• Expell a total of 10,000 KW from your Proton Pack
• Rack up $750,000 in property damage

EGB Proton Pack Shell Research Contract – (DLC2)

• Help up 5 Other Busters from being Slimed
• Calm 15 Civilians from a scared state

2016 Pack Shell Research Contract – (DLC3)

• Vault or Mantle over ledges 50 times
• Fix your sabotaged Proton Pack 15 times

“Fanatic” Proton Pack Shell Research Contract – (DLC4)

• Repair your Sabotaged, non-cardboard Proton Pack 3 times
• Get Knocked Back 10 times

Centrifugal Thruster Research Contract

Unlocks at Pack LvL 20

• Sprint for a total of 14km with the particle thrower (changed with DLC3 to the below)
• Sprint for a total of 5km with the particle thrower
• Knock a rift out of a ghosts hands 5 times (changed with DLC3 to the below)

Governor Release Research Contract

• Recharge trap battery 15000ma total (was 50,000ma until 1.3.0)
• Discharge 10000ma of battery

R.T.V. Kit Research Contract

Unlocks at Trap LvL 24

• Get the final capture 5 times (changed with DLC3 to the below)
• Get the final capture 3 times
• Resupply your trap from the gear cart 10 times

Overclock Module Research Contract
