How do I move in Ghostbusters World?
Let’s start out with the basics. A lot of new recruits ask this question in the global chat so we’ll start here. This game is a walking game, like Pokemon Go. It uses Google Maps as the engine for placing dimensional doors and distributing ghosts. As you walk around the physical world, your character will walk around the virtual world, wherever you are. So make sure you have your phone’s GPS active while playing the game.
What should I upgrade first?
Particle Thrower: Most professionals recommend starting with your primary weapon, the Particle Thrower. Level it up to 3 stars, at the very least. Then make a decision: either stick with this to 4 stars, or move on to your secondary weapon for now.
Boson Caster: For your secondary weapons, because of the cost of ammo, and the speed that ammo can be created, we recommend that you upgrade the Boson Caster. Getting to level 3 will make taking down bosses much easier. Level 4 and level 5 will increase the speed that you can bring them down. Keep in mind that this will take some time unless you gem it, but it’s well worth it.
As you’re getting your Boson Caster up in levels, remember to keep going with the Particle Thrower as well. The Particle Thrower will help in boss fights, to clear out the minions. Especially as you get to higher levels.
Place Your Remote Gate
This is something that really sets Ghostbusters World apart from Pokemon Go. You can place a personal dimensional door wherever you want. Be sure you place it where you want it to be, because once you place it, you can only move it after paying a 100 Gem “Retrieval Cost.”
This gate is for you, and you alone. No other players will be able to see or use the gate that you set up.
We recommend putting your gate where you spend time all seven days each week, such as your home. On days that you can’t seem to get away from home, whether you’re feeling sick, or there is bad weather, you can still complete gate-related missions, and pick up some supplies.
This gate refreshes every 20 minutes, unlike the regular gates that refresh every 10.
Good Starting Ghost Teams
Let’s start with the grades. These tend to be a little confusing at first. When you catch a ghost, you’ll see it graded with one of five letter grades: D, C, B, A, and S. The ghosts you want to keep around are “S” level, or “Legendary.”
As a beginner, you’ll find that nearly every ghost team will work. As you play, you’ll start to discover that ghosts with good speed, the ability to knock other ghosts unconscious, or the ability to confuse other ghosts, will come in handy. A good healer or two can also work wonders on your team.
Favorite early ghosts include Slimer. I was very excited to find him, and now I have a few S-level Slimers in my collection. He has four skills, including a leader skill, to reduce damage received by your team by 10%.
Ghosts can be leveled up to six stars, and level 60, but I recommend only doing that with powerful “S” level ghosts.
What are Runes?
Starting when you are level 20, you can start using runes on your ghosts. Runes are items that you can collect, and use to boost the various stats of your ghosts. Runes can also be upgraded. These items can make a big difference in the power of your team. Increasing your ghost’s speed, for instance, can help you to win some battles before your opponent has a chance to attack.
