This is probably the most asked question that we see in the Global chat on Ghostbusters World.
This is a GPS based game.
Like Pokemon Go, you’ll see a map of the actual world around you, and your character in game will be approximately where you are in the real world. Before you get started, see if there are roads and building outlines around your character. As long as you’re not in an open field, you should see what looks like a roadmap with buildings surrounding your character in the game.
There is no control pad in the game to make your character move. Doing so defeats the purpose of the game, which is to get you moving and busting ghosts in the real world.
Make sure your device’s location settings are turned on, and the game has permission to access it.
If you don’t see the roadmap, check your location settings for the game.
When you first set up the game, you have to grant permissions for the game to know your location. If you haven’t, you’ll need to check the settings on your phone to make sure that the game can locate you on the map. This will vary between iOS and Android for how the permissions are set.
If you start walking down the street, or hop into a car (never play while driving), you’ll see your character move on the map.
What if I have walked down the street, and my map isn’t changing and I still don’t move?
Check to see whether your phone or tablet has location turned on. Sometimes, to save battery, I’ll turn location off, and forget that I’ve done that before starting up the game.
Get outside and explore safely!
Head to parks, museums, restaurants, etc., and look for dimensional doors, bosses, and rare ghosts. Be safe and have fun!
